Hands up those who remember the ice cream parlour Criterion Ices in Sydenham? It closed several years ago leaving no alternative. Never fear the good news is that a new Gelateria called Scoop ed has opened in SE London in September 2009.

Scoop ed is located just by East Dulwich station and run by Sarah Baxter and Michael Wearing. Michael was a renowned BBC TV Drama producer (in the days when cutting-edge Drama was valued by the Corporation) and Sarah was a famous wig-maker for stars.

Just hop on a train to East Dulwich with the kids and visit Scoop ed for a real treat. Iit is just a two minute walk from the station.
