Substantial mid-late Victorian houses.The area initially part of the Manor of Dulwich, with parts also within the Manor of Milkwell; it transformed into a residential area with the arrival of the railway in 1863. St Jude’s church was built in 1869 (deconsecrated 1979). The Prince Regent public house (est. 1830s) was rebuilt in the 1860s. Brockwell Park (which it borders) opened in 1891 and the Lido in 1937.
