The Borough SE1, was the origin of the London borough of Southwark. It is bordered by the River Thames and Bermondsey. Since the 1980s it has moved from light industry (print and hops) to its current residential status seeing industrial premises converted to loft use.

This guide uses the following streets in the Borough as its borders:to the West by Blackfriars Road, to the East by Weston Street and to the South by the New Kent Road.

The Guide features:

1. A History timeline of the district.
2. Information on the best shops, services, restaurants, bars, cinemas, theatres and galleries.
3. A Property Guide highlighting the best residential roads to buy or rent house or flats. The best local estate agent is recommended as well.
